Advanced Modeling, Still Life

This project was to create a still life image with mental ray textures and lighting but to keep it looking realistic. After modeled the image we needed to render the image with render passes and to finish editing in Adobe Photoshop.
This project was created to help understand and learn mental ray textures and lighting and how to render with render passes. This project is based off of some objects on my desk that I then recreated in Maya.
In critique of this project my peers said some positive aspects of the project but also some suggestions to bring this to the next level. They suggested I lower my lights as they feel it is too many lights. And suggested I work more on the pencils as they are the only things in the scene that feel unrealistic.
