Types Of Canons
– Started 5th Century B.C.
-Measures the body in united from that body’s head.
-Average body is about seven to eight heads
-Landmarks a certain number of heads: Nipples = Two heads down, Belly Button= Three Heads Down, Groin = Four heads down.
-Started around the 3rd Dynasty
-Draws the body on a square grid system
-Grid was eighteen square units high, but later changed to twenty-two unites.
-grid is derived from the human body.
The Golden Mean
-Used the he golden ratio in portraits
-Found the placement of features and various body parts.
