2D Design, Dream World Logo, 10″ x 10″, Colored Pencil and Photoshop
Design a logo; experiment with repeating lines, create motion using sequences and progression. Vary the line weight, creating contrast. Describe the speed and how the eye will move around the design.
This design has a 50-50 contrast, defined motion, and loud noise. The Photoshop image has different line quality around the image that moves your eye around the image and seeming like the bird is free because of the open edge.
I made this with my ‘dream world’ in mind were nature is all around and is free, hence the name FreeBird.
Compare and Contrast to an Artist
Ellen Lupton’s design “Death in the Burbs” and my dream world logo both use an outline to bring attention to the image and draw your eye to one specific subject. Although Lupton and I have some similarities, we are not alike by she has a background to her picture as I left it white to add thought into my logo.
